Some news regarding Hartmann and Malloy on XM 167:

No, Thom won't be on live. But they'll now air him from midnight-3 AM ET on Monday-Friday, plus the "Best Of" airings on the weekend at 6 AM ET Saturday morning, and 10 AM ET Sunday morning.

Regarding Mike Malloy, Nova M Radio's site said that he was starting on XM 167 tonight. However, I emailed Kathy the other day, and she said "XM has been postponed until they figure out their new line up, it has something to do with Schultz is all I know.

Looking more at May than March, we just heard today."

1. Well, that is some good news...
I have a habit of falling asleep with XM radio on and then waking up around midnight, when Al Franken would normally be repeated in my MST time zone. Uggh, to wake up to Ed Schultz is too much. (yes, I know some like him, and I do occasionally listen, but he so often irritates me, I do so with caution--lol)

2. I can occasionally stand Ed, however, today, when he said
some damn reference to that woman astronaut proving you can drive 900 miles straight through without stopping, then made a veiled reference to the people of New Orleans taking a cure from that, I just about blew my stack (paraphrased because I cannot remember the exact words, but it was infuriating and I was absolutely shocked because I had a pretty good idea what he meant).

I am DONE with him. I hope XM is reconsidering.

4. I hate to keep defending Ed

because he's not my favorite progressive host either but HE'S STILL PROGRESSIVE, and he gets excellent ratings... in fact here in Seattle he's one of the highest (if not highest) rated hosts. He's probably attracting lots of center and middle-of-the-road listeners nationwide and these are the people (read voters) we will need to achieve the progressive agenda. Don't listen if you don't like him but I'm really tired of people here bashing him. Sorry but they can't all be as articulate as Hartmann or as passionate as Molloy...

5. different strokes for different folks, lordsummerisle...
The issue with Ed is not that he is on XM--he should be. But, I think the overwhelming consensus is that he should not be on the dedicated AAR channel, which is an exclusive with AAR. Why? because he is NOT an AAR host AND more importantly, he has made it excruciatingly clear, that he does not want to be-- given his angry tirades against AAR.

So, broadcast him on another lefty XM channel...we should certainly have more than one. problem solved.

6. You've got that right, many of Schultz positions like on Iran he just parrots MSM bullshit, and

Schultz had the nerve the other day to say the Iraq invasion by Bush was NOT illegal...typical Fox news bullshit...What would one call invading a sovereign nation, that never attacked nor threatened us, an ally to the US when it was convenient against Iran...how is not an illegal invasion when BushCo made up lies about WMD in Iraq? What would you call an invasion hurried by BushCo before the UN vote and pulling weapons inspectors...What would one call an invasion of imperialism, a war for profits controlling Iraq's oil reserves....By any fair account, an illegal invasion! Schultz is far too conservative for my taste...So what can one expect Schultz has a conservative producer and Ed is obviously doing it for just the bucks, certainly not dedicated ideology.
