The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has subpoenaed Maj. Gen. George Weightman, who was fired as head of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, after Army officials refused to allow him to testify before the committee Monday.

Committee Chairman Henry Waxman and subcommittee Chairman John Tierney asked Weightman to testify about an internal memo that showed privatization of services at Walter Reed could put “patient care services… at risk of mission failure.”

But Army officials refused to allow Weightman to appear before the committee after he was relieved of command.

Grand jury was a pain in the ass ... it's all the prosecutor's show, and people freak out if you don't return an indictment. The whole system of justice in this country has become a joke.

It's kind of funny because I actually got it postponed until Jan. 5 because of the London trip. I went that day and was actually picked to sit on the jury. I was about to use the restroom when they called my group to appear before the judge for selection, so I didn't answer nature's call. It took a while before he actually started calling jurors, so when my name was called I asked the bailiff if it would be ok if I ran to the ladies room for a minute. He asked if I could wait, I told him that I'd been waiting and he said ok go. When I got back, they'd just moved on to the next person and my service was postponed AGAIN. I was certain that I'd get nailed this time, but it all worked out ok.

I loved watching Ann Coulter on C-Span. When she called Obama one-third white trash, one-third black, and one-third Muslim..I think many of the people attending CPAC knew this remark only hurts Republicans and regretted inviting her. It was fun watching the executives of the big oil companies addressing an empty room during the incoherent rant about the betrayal of oil and the nonexistence of global warming!

Even the neocons knew this was nothing more than an advertisement for Exxon and BP.
