I just learned today that next year, I get to take a semester PAID sabatical

been talking to the principal and she wants me to move to ADMIN and told me that I could take a semester PAID sabatical to do the internship if I would like

8. Enjoy the sabat, but think about the admin position

I've worked in hundreds of schools as a support contractor and had to deal with administration directly. Most who were good in their positions weren't really good teachers but good schmoozers or could sell their ideas to the people who really had to do the work. All the real teachers who moved up to administration were usually sorry they did so.
Search your soul on your sabbatical and examine why your a teacher and think about what you love about your job and what you hate. Decide what to do based on what makes you happy. From my experience, if you're happy at what you do, you'll do well. If your just doing it for the paycheck, it'll be tough to get out of bed in the morning.
