Has anyone seen this movie? "Who Killed the Electric Car?" ((A MUST SEE))
Edited on Sat Mar-03-07 05:20 AM by BigBearJohn
"Amid ever-increasing gas prices, this documentary delves into the short life of the GM EV1 electric car --
once all the rage in the mid-1990s and now fallen by the roadside. How could such an efficient, green-
friendly vehicle fail to transform our garages and skies? Through interviews with government officials,
former GM employees and concerned celebs (such as EV1 driver Mel Gibson), Chris Paine (former EV1 owner)
seeks to answer the question."

In my humble opinion, everybody should see this film.
What an incredible eye-opener! This is SUCH an
important film when we consider our dependence on
oil and now the all-important issue of global warming.

I IMPLORE everyone to see this film. It is groundbreaking.

1. Yes and watched it three times since I borrowed it.

Bush Inc was part of the cabal that killed the electric car. The important thing to remember is that this is not so-called "new" technology.

The technology exists. It's "them" who don't want us to have it.

7. Fantastic! Isn't it amazing that we had this in our grasp and then POOF!
and now GM is going down the drain.
It serves them right.
Boy does it ever.

#3. It's on my Blockbuster list and should be here next week. And yes I know, Blockbuster is a red company, but so is Netflix and Blockbuster is a much better deal with the in-store exchange. No "throttling" (what made me quit Netflix) is possible since I just take my mailed movies into the store and exchange them for store movies on the spot.

3. Amazingly enough
My wife and I went to the rental place late last night for the first time this year with a gift card in our possession. As we were checking out the clerk told us you can get one more movie for only 50 cents and the nearest DVD in reach was "Who killed the Electric Car?" Guess I'll be watching it first!

9. I had it rented for a week and watched it every day
It's a damning indictment of the auto industry in general, not just GM.

Ford and Toyota were just as guilty at wiping out any traces of the success of their cars.

10. They were so threatened by the car they made they destroyed all but one
that now sits in a museum garage.

They wouldn't even allow people to buy them. Can't have any good examples out there giving the peasants ideas, kind of like their attitude toward Cuba.
These are very fearful people.
