We can not win with a strategy of surrender or capitulation
Edited on Sat Mar-03-07 10:35 AM by mmonk
on matters of our democracy. Our courts have been ransacked as evidenced by the 4th circuit court of appeals in regards to the Masri case. Understand any erosion of our constitution (of which torture is not a part of by law) threatens all of us. We have extra-constitutional armies on our soil that follow no given set of standards or law. We have faith based initiatives (public funding of religious organizations with violate separation of church and state). We have pre-emptive war which violates international treaties of which we are signatories to (which violates our constitution and laws). We have "unitary executive" theories and practice which violate constitutional checks and balances. We have an executive branch which by all intent and purposes has engaged in espionage against our republic in the Plame affair. All this with not even mentioning erosion of economic justice and the concepts behind the commonwealth of our nation. We must not accept any surrender strategy by elected members or representatives of our party. The fight is now and we can't go hide behind a rock.

2. I'm still thinking about
sending members of Congress a picture of a spine and telling them to get one.

5. I'm sure staffers have been told to trash such stuff.
Only methods considered useful triangulation make it through. But may as well do it anyway.

3. I Agree
And the first step is to impeach this administration which has no respect whatsoever for our Constitution in particular or for the rule of law in general.

6. Nominated.
Well said. If a criminal breaks into your home, and wants to do harm to your family, and steal your belongings, you should not think in terms of reaching a fair compromise.

7. It is true, unfortunately we are under the impression that the voters,
having expressed their discontent with the horrors perpetrated by these criminals, have given a blanket endorsement to our party, and apparently believe that nothing more than simply not being republics is required of them.

Maybe they're right, I don't know. It is very frustrating and more than a little scary.:scared:

8. I'm beyond frustrated.
At what point do we reach a point of no return to an America that goes by rule of law vs. this sick version of make it up as you go along? I'm not one that thinks people elect the opposition into power by their resemblance in policy ideas of the ones that were defeated.

9. Count me amongst the frustrated.
This feels a little like the People's Front of Judea schtick from Life of Brian. "This calls for immediate discussion."
