The Super Bowl is coming...
And I am very pissed every time former president George H.W. Bush walks with Clinton every time before the game. And I wish I would strangle the former president every time I see him on TV when the game begins.

1. You actually watch the Super Bowl?
I hardly ever do. But then I'm not much of a pro football fan anyway. For me, Super Bowl Sunday is one of the best days of the year to go see a movie! I've never had to watch Clinton and G.H.W. Bush buddying up in a movie preview.

:silly:

MIKE'S SUPERBOWL (of) CHILI
3 lb. lean ground beef (or other meat)
3 10 oz. pkg. frozen chopped onions
3 12 oz. pkg. frozen chopped green peppers
3 15 oz. cans of red kidney beans (drained)
3 8 oz. cans of tomato sauce
3 16 oz. cans of tomatoes (drained)
1 tbs. sugar
1 tbs. salt
5 tbs. chili powder
1 tbs. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. curry powder
4 bay leaves
other spices as desired(!)
1 cup red wine

(All measurements are very approximate.)

In large covered frying pan, brown ground beef, drain fuids.
Add chopped onions and chopped green peppers.
Cook covered over low heat until green peppers and onions are thawed and hot.
Drain all fluids.

In large pot (8 qt. min.), mix kidney beans, tomato sauce, tomatoes, and spices.
Cook until tomato chunks begin to break down.
Add beef, green peppers, and onions from frying pan.
Add red wine.

Cook until tomatoes are broken down.

Serve (next day, after reheating) with corn bread muffins and butter.

4. Ummm...chili
I start with 2 lbs browned ground beef. Put it in the crock pot with the Carroll Shelby mix, some chunky-cut fresh sweet onion (Vidalia if ya got em), fresh seeded tomato wedges, a couple of small cans green chili, tomato sauce, the salt in the Shelby pkg, extra moisture as needed, can of kidney beans (drained) added somewhere along the process, thicken it with the masa from the Shelby pkg.
Only thing left is the cornbread.

GO COLTS !!!
