Help Waxman Put Walter Reed Head on Hotseat: "Why Has Mail Call Been Cancelled for Wounded Warrior?"
Edited on Sat Mar-03-07 02:21 PM by CorpGovActivist
Please read this, and then contact the House Oversight Committee to request that the hearing at Walter Reed on Monday morning address the "To Any Wounded Warrior" mail call cancellation: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x330631

http://oversight.house.gov/contact.asp

Please also contact your local/regional media to tip them off to this story, and to ask the following: "If the 'To Any Wounded Warrior' packages pose a security burden, why can't they be screened through the same facility that now screens Congressional mail?"

Best,

- Dave

P.S. If you live in/near a major metropolitan area, you might also suggest that your major paper send a rep from its Washington bureau to cover this hearing on Monday: http://oversight.house.gov/story.asp?ID=1195

Come on, DU! There is enough time to help catapult this story into a higher orbit, and raise national awareness.

3. Thank You!!! Participatory Democracy Rocks
Imagine the reaction once they're flooded with e-mails and voicemails this weekend...

... and imagine your reaction on Monday, when this issue gets raised in the hearing.

Participatory democracy is a wonderful thing.

4. A Quote from Fired Army Secretary, 2005: "Soldiers can rest assured..."
Soldiers can rest assured that I’ll be getting the resources that are needed for quality of life for themselves and their families, their Well-Being … and to ensure that they have the right equipment, the right training to provide the force protection, to provide the lethality they need – that is so important to the future of our country as well as the rest of the world.
