http://www.commondreams.org/headlines07/0302-02.htmAnd according to this article some Democrats are also in favor of it ( and I intend to find out who.) So much for caring about the planet or thinking this Congress even with a Democratic majority will do anything of substance to stop this man. The corporate/military/industrial complex lives on as we watch from the sidelines too afraid to really get up and do what we must do under our Constitution. And we then wonder why good men don't want to run in this crap. Instead of proliferation we should be disarming what we have as a signatory to the NPT, but of course, that won't happen and the money going to this horror that could be going to actually feed people will continue to feed the purveyors of death and destruction. I never was really one to buy into talk of prophecies about the end days, but I can now surely envision that man will be his own end, and soon. For a species that claims to be so advanced, we are really nothing more than stupid barbarians.
"The evils which of necessity encompass the life of man are sufficiently numerous. Why should we add to them by voluntarily distressing and destroying one another? Peace, brothers, is better than war. In a long and bloody war, we lose many friends, and gain nothing. Let us then live in peace and friendship together, doing to each other all the good we can."
Thomas Jefferson
