since tonight the weather cooperated. The sky is really clear.

Usually when there's some kind of event, it's cloudy and raining here.

but strangely, it now seems rather dull - just as if there's very light cloud in front of it, with no colour.

It's completely red right now.

We went up to a nearby hill w/a bottle of champagne and some chocolate brownies. Great fun.

It was cloudy, as it had rained all day, but now it's clear, fortunately! It's so beautiful! If you didn't know there was going to be a lunar eclipse, if you looked into the sky, you'd say, "What the hell is that??"

I can see it very clearly off my balcony now. So beautiful. The left side is becoming a little lighter, but most of it is dark red.

11. Lucky duck! Clouds just broke enough here to get a good look

but earlier we got pictures of the shadow moving across the moon...then these huge clouds moved in...we waited.....then went inside...then ran back out a little later and got a fairly decent look...just got back inside.

She looked lonely to me...beautiful...but lonely

12. It's very clear here in the north of Germany

We saw all three phases...it started to cover bottom left, then the complete cover, and now it's uncovering top left. About 1/16 of the left side is uncovered now.

I'm in the flight path to Frankfurt and can see the commercial jets coming in. I'll bet the pilots are excited about telling their passengers to look outside~!

When it was completely covered, it looked like Mars in the satellite photographs I've seen of it.

On edit, it's becoming a bit brighter now on the left side. It's simply gorgeous on this (finally) clear night with stars all around. I can make out more of an arch in the moon as it is waxing ("wachsen" means "to grow" in German) than I could when it was waning.

We've been up looking at this since 10:30. Three hours later, and significant other has "thrown in the towel." I'm still fascinated.

Last edit: it's nearly half full now. I've been watching it for over 3 hours, since it first started waning. Time for bed.

about a quarter of the moon is now back to normal. It wasn't as orange as the last lunar eclipse, but it's magnificent on this lovely clear night with a gentle breeze.

but it's high in the sky in Europe, low in the east on the US east coast, and still below the horizon in Denver (moonrise there is 5:53pm Mountain time - in another 15 minutes or so, I think).

No colors yet, but I'm told that red and orange can be expected as it goes near total...

28. I saw it in Europe, it was clear and cold tonight

As of 11:35pm the moon was just a teensy sliver. I then fell asleep, so I didn't see it reemerge on the flip side.
