But Mr. Giuliani’s relationship with Andrew has grown strained and distant since his very public and bitter divorce from Andrew’s mother, Donna Hanover, and his marriage to Judith Nathan, according to Andrew and others familiar with the relationship.

In a telephone interview yesterday, Andrew, a sophomore and member of the golf team at Duke University, acknowledged having had difficulties with Ms. Nathan, and said that he and his father had recently tried to reconcile after not speaking “for a decent amount of time.”

“There’s obviously a little problem that exists between me and his wife,” the younger Mr. Giuliani said.

Similarly, a distance appears to have developed between Mr. Giuliani and his daughter, now a high school senior who is to attend Harvard University in September.

The familial tensions come as Mr. Giuliani prepares to run for president and as other Republican contenders deploy their children as campaign assets.

5. Uh, after Rudy treated his wife the way he did, what doyou expect?
Pleeze folks, this guy didn't even tell his wife he was getting a divorce until he announced it in a press conference!!!

How would you feel if your spouse did that to you?

Good god folks! THIS makes Rudy more real? How lovely is that?

Would someone explain to me how a spouse would think this makes Rudy more real? Well, maybe more culpable, but what an insufferable mysoginist!

7. Real Tragedy of Rudy-Judy is Judith Nathan's daughter-Juvenile Court Case

Major parenting issues. Rudy and Judy would be a First Family parenting horror story worse than Reagan and Bush. Real Republican Family Values. I do think Republicans would identify. It fits in with never accepting responsibility.

I personally would prefer that family be kept out of politics----I don't care for the Republican intrusions into family matters---but I think hypocrisy is an issue.

8. What was that case? What are you referring to?
I lived in New York during the 60s. I can't recall the case but it does sound faintly familiar...
