anyone with a relative from Utah has a polygamist somewhere in the family tree if you go back far enough. for that matter anyone with a family tree has an unsavory character opr two if you go back far enough.

There are lots of reasons not to vote for Mitt Romney - his religion or what his great grandad did 100 years ago are not among those reasons.

Speaking of which i don't see anything being said about Harry Reid - He is a mormon and no doubt has a polygamous ancestor or two. Not to mention Barack Obama who had a polygamous FATHER according to the UK Daily Mail.

I agree that attacking someone for their religion isn't a great thing to do. But, let's not give the wingnuts stories about Harry while we're at it.

edit: I stand corrected - I knew Harry wasn't born LDS but wasn't sure of his wife and thought she was the reason he converted. I found this

He supports the definition of marriage as between 'a man and a woman" and *only* that. Not two men; two women; one man ten women; one woman ten men" etc.

If he's going to demagog this issue for political gain ( which is what, BTW, he's doing) he should at least explain how the activities of his progenitors undermined the social fabric of the US of A. If indeed that's what he thinks.

Ditto, Obama and Reid if they are exploiting it in the same way Romney is.
