How much more shit can this soldier cram onto his person?

Helmet with goggles half-way covering his eyes (degraded peripheral vision)
High powered scope on a carbine rifle with a forearm handle (the handle facilitates close quarters combat, not long-range precision fire)
Some weird attachment under the front sight post.
A 20-round magazine (when he has a 30-round magazine sticking out of his vest's ammo pouch)
Bulky winter gloves (with his finger on the trigger)
A blue stop-watch???
Some electronic contraption on his chest and a microphone with cables all over the place.

If he gets shot at and tries to take up the prone firing position to return fire, he's going to have a hard time getting close to the ground.

He looks like your typical "PX Ranger"

1. He's an "Army Of One"

I'm probably wrong but I get the impression of a ROTC junior officer with war comic books in his back pocket. (I say I'm probably wrong because officers weren't usually supposed to be toting rifles, iirc. It seemed to depend on the combat unit.)

We had one of those come through on his first 6 months as our HQ company CO - ROTC - and he ACTUALLY carried war comic books in is back pocket occasionally. It blew our minds. (He was truly a chicken-shit, too.)

2. Wasn't he in some comedy movie with Bill Murray?
You know the one; a group of mis-fits comes together and WOWS the "powers that be" with their off-beat but dead-right way of doing those military thingies?

 at myself as much as that picture.

3. LOL squatch
wait until you get to Iraq, he actually looks underloaded from what we normally carry..........He doesn't have the shoulder pad armor, nor do I see the kevlar face shield.........And those gloves aren't the trigger gloves they issue.......he looks about 10-15 pounds light.......
