A Guilani-Gingrich ticket is truly scary
Largely because it can be sold as restroing competence to the GOP. Don't laugh... It might be there best electoral shot.

It might piss off the fundiess but moderate voters could be suckered in.

2. I'm not worried too much about Newtie
Newt does really well in a hard-right congressional district, but I can't see him playing nationally. He's a nut job. He and Giuliani would also have a lot of fun fighting over who has the worse marriage record. I can't imagine the two of them being able to complete a campaign cycle without one or the other being involved in an adultery scandal.

3. Gingrich is kryptonite
He would kill any candidate's chance of winning, and he will not be a factor. He is much like Ann Coulter, without the vulgarities. He looks after himself first, party second. He had his day and blew it. Another republican has-been, like Tom Delay, Denny Hastert, Jack Abramhoff.
They are still trying to eke a living out of screwing Americans.

6. There are several Republicans who will trigger an immediate
move to Canada for me if they should win in 2008. Guiliani/Gingrich is the scariest combination yet.

7. Sounds practical on paper, but I don't see it working.
They are two peas in a pod. Newt would want to be Dick Cheney and Rudy doesn't share power or the spotlight with anyone. They both would have illusions of being president.

11. I don't agree.
That ticket would be target rich. There's enough dirt in their backgrounds to disgust a significant number of voters.
