1. As long as Bill Richardson sees James Baker meddling in the ME
as the answer to the problems in that region, he will not get my support.

9. his main role was to fight for environmental provisions in the trade legislation

and he fought for environmental concessions from Mexico. Most of the problems with the agreements have stemmed from this administration's unwillingness to enforce any of the sanctions contained in the legislation.

3. He'll never be big on DU, but he is the most experienced of the bunch imo
I don't agree with him on Nafta and the dp, but I really like his LOVE of diplomacy. We will need someone like that to undo all of Bush's damage.

5. We certainly have a marvelous assembly of potential candidates,
don't we?

I find it remarkable that one of the Sunday morning know it all shows was discussing the presidential candidates-the republican ones-and the host mentioned that the republircons had good line up of possible contenders. Of course, that wasn't the remarkable part; he immediately followed with a brief quip about the democratic gaggle, using far more complimentary, even superlative, terms.

I was so astounded, I missed his next babble.

6. Richardson would be a strong candidate
if he gets the nomination. He's probably the Democrats' best shot.
