Bush in 2009

Assuming Bush leaves office in Jan. 2009, it will be because:

1) Bush respects the Constitution and, so, will recognize legitimacy of the president-elect.

OR:

2) Bush and his gang did the math and decided they couldn't get away with holding on to power indefinitely.

I am thinking that option 2 is correct. The whole thing about firing the federal prosecutors and placing loyalists in those jobs, paired with Bush's purge of non-yes men at the Pentagon -- that stuff has me spooked.
