Town Holds Clothing-Optional Political Debate
Town Holds Clothing-Optional Political Debate

A nine-candidate political debate in Loxahatchee Groves, Fla., is believed to be the first in state history to be held as a clothing-optional forum, according to a Local 6 News report. Photos: Clothing-Optional Debate

The debate was held at the gated community of Sunsport Gardens -- which is also a nudist colony.

Nine of the 10 Town Council candidates attended the meeting to sway voters for next month's election.

About 100 spectators, including many naked or topless people, attended the event.

One candidate decided to boycott the forum, saying she couldn't concentrate with all the naked people in crowd, Local 6's Erik von Ancken said.

"Those who showed up nude said she definitely lost their vote," von Ancken said.

2. That's something....TV coverage might have been problematic
They would have either had to cut their shots carefully or make liberal use of the big blur blob.

It's one for the history books, so they say...

3. I wanna move there! Or at least suggest it to my local council.
They'd go for it, don't you think?
I might run for office if they do.

7. Ya know I am the biggest prude that ever existed when it comes
to being clothed. I would not walk from my bathroom to my bedroom nude if I lived ALONE,,,I envy people who feel so free about their bodies. In my house, if my mom was in the bathroom and I accidently opened the door we both would yell (I am a woman!) I LOVE these people!
