Survivor DU....

...not a new tv series but rather a quirky thought I had tonight reading through various threads...As I wander through various forums on DU, I find certain posters that basically, I just don't like...if they are confrontational in one forum-they are confrontational on all...or supercilious, or nasty, or snarky, or etc. etc. etc. Wherever they go they spread-well, I can best describe it as non-cheer...So what if like "Survivor" we could vote one of them off one a week-every week the person voted "most annoying" out of our lives just like a spouse in a no fault divorce.Those voted off could immediately reregister with a new screen name but would lose their post count and seniority. Not a death sentence but rather the judgment of the commons...neither would it be punitive since they could immediately return-more like a peer driven censure designed to promote future civility...anyway, it amused me as an idea-what do other posters think?

PS: I fully recognize I might be the first one gone...

5. I haven't been registered here very long, but I've lurked for quite a while...

and I've noticed that there are some cliques. And it seems that they might make people that they disagree with personal projects, which would make that particular persons DU experience a lot like "Groundhog Day". I remember watching something like this play out when the Mods enhanced the block feature a while back. People were using it to settle scores and respond to real or imagined slights. I think it's an interesting idea, but the possibility of mob rule might make implementing it with any sort of fairness fairly difficult. But, then again, I'm a new guy, so what the hell do I know?

Somedays, I'd vote me off, but, imho, the grit is good for us. Like push ups and being civil to your ex.

Some DU'ers resort to taunts and ridicule as a debate technique, trying to pick out those not into the groupthink clique de jour and drive them from the herd. Pretty lame.

If we all thought the same, we'd be Republicans.

I actually enjoy mixing it up with people who disagree with me, and I don't mind snark- I better not, I indulge in it myself. DU would be a very dull place should what you suggest, come to pass.
