EYES! Rolling or blinking?

Back in the 2000 debates, many pundits jumped on Gore for "rolling his eyes" at many of Bush's answers. Now, many pundits are making a big deal out of Pelosi "blinking" during Bush's SOTU speech.

Honestly, when ANY Thinking Person hears another person make an outrageous statement, their first natural impulse is either to "roll their eyes" in disbelief over the other person's stupidity (consider the "rolling eyes" icon and how it is used here on DU) OR they will blink their eyes in SURPRISE that the other person would make such a stupid statement.

Yes, Gore rolled his eyes when Bush said something stupid. Yes, Pelosi blinked a lot when Bush said something stupid. Why are we worrying about their eyes? We should be worrying about the stupidity of the statement that caused the involuntary eye response in the first place!

Frankly, if you didn't roll your eyes or blink faster in surprise, then you didn't really understand what Bush was saying!
