of that stuff (presuming Coumadin) can you take without triggering a brain bleed? Of couse, coumadin is used in rat poison and he is a big rat, so maybe quie a bit.

I'm thinkinng if he developed the clot while already on thinnners, he is sicker than even I thought. Am also presuming they adjust his meds for long flights - maybe not.

2. Cardiovascular disease puts people at higher risk for DVT
And he's probably already on coumadin because he has angioplasties, etc. Maybe they will just o'd him on warfarin or something else?

Of course this could be Unka Dick's final ticket out, he's lined up the players, now he can step down and watch the dominoes fall. One sick fuck. Literally and figuratively.

14. That is correct.
5W-40. Multivis. That's why needed a heavy coat at the Russian funeral -- no way to jump start his sorry old ass in Eastern Europe.

6. Dick
I see he didn't go to Walter Reed. Maybe he's laying the ground work to resign due to health, so he won't get caught up in the Walter Reed scandal. Riddle me this? How many more government programs have been outsourced to Halliburton or their subsidiaries?

19. It would please me no end
If the Sneer were to go to Walter Reed , specifically in Building 18 (the part that has yet to be repaired).

That would be a wonderful case of Instant Karma.:nopity:

12. Not all patients who've undergone the same procedure as
Unka Dick are on blood thinners. My hubby had that same surgery 12 years ago, and he's only on Lipitor which is a cholesterol control drug, but no thinners.

I'm actually wondering if this is the begiinning of the "Cheney has to resign for health reasons" story. Many have predicted he would leave office soon ya know.

16. My wife was on coumadin when we had health insurance
They monitored her blood level every week for a long time then dropped it to once a month. I think crash has been on blood thinner a long time, remember the parka picture poor rotten old fuckwas freezing, probablly had on an electric jock too.
They must be losing effectiveness this is the second time it's been reported that he's had a clot to deal with.

21. That depends on the individual, I would imagine.
Long plane flights are a risk factor in and of themselves, especially if you don't get up and walk around every few hours or so. Same goes for having surgery and being immobilized for a while. Also, diet can alter the efficacy of Coumadin - for example, Vitamin K (found in broccoli and other green, leafy vegetables) can cause Coumadin to be less effective, especially if taken in large quantities (Vitamin K, I mean, not the Coumadin). And then there's the genetic risk factor - my dad and I both have Factor V Leiden, a genetic disorder that causes the blood to clot more quickly and easily than is normal. (We didn't know until my dad nearly died from a massive pulmonary embolism back in 2000, a few months after he'd had a successful hernia surgery - it's not something that is generally tested for, since it only presents in about 8% of the population. But it's entirely possible that Vice President Cheney has a similar condition. My dad has to go every few weeks to get his prothrombin response time tested, and it naturally varies from time to time so occasionally he'll have to go up or down on the Coumadin. However, you'd think that the VP would have access to all the best state-of-the-art resources for medical testing, so...I dunno.) Anyway, I hope he will be okay - blood clots still scare the hell out of me, and as evil as Dick Cheney is, I wouldn't want him or his family to have to go through that. :scared:
