Monday, March 5
10P ET/PT: Coming Home
For men and women returning from combat, the welcome back to the US is just the beginning of a long road home. We go beyond parades and yellow ribbons to examine the anguish, and the exhilarating triumphs, of the veterans of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
11P ET/PT: For God and Country: A Marine Sniper’s Story
Matthew Orth is a Marine Scout Sniper, highly-trained to kill the enemies of the United States. He tells what it is like to be in a foreign country, looking through the scope of his rifle and ending the life of a complete stranger.

1. Thanks for the heads up on this!
Looks to be well worth watching, and I will tune in for sure.

I believe the whole Walter Reed nightmare story and all the issues that revolve around it are getting some serious attention now, and we need to keep this ball rolling!

There is no better way, imo, to bring all the grim points home about Bu$h's profiteer wars and what they're doing to our beloved troops -- and to our country -- than to focus on this matter of how the "wounded warriors" are (mis)treated when they return home.

Let's not let the furor die down! For once the corporate media (WaPo's Walter Reed article) did something RIGHT and opened a lot of eyes to what's being done in our name to the soldiers who've already sacrificed more than enough. I hope there are many more programs like this one on MSNBC tonight that further inform the public.

As a longtime friend and supporter of Vietnam vets who has helped many of them fight the paperwork battle with the VA to get benefits and treatment they need, I've been aware of this enormous problem for decades. But most Americans are not aware of what's happening, and they need to be as enraged as many of us here at DU are about this!
