"Coming Home" on MSNBC
Very sad so far but if our troops are strong enough to endure we can get a clue as to what they are experiencing.

2. we spend BILLIONS...
on this war. BILLIONS...... and we can't afford to take care of these troops properly. It's disgusting. They are used and spit out.

On another note, it still amazes me that that one guy who lost an arm and a leg said HE WOULD GO BACK and lose the other arm and leg for his buddies. What a bond!?

I found it sad he blamed himself. said he failed. failed his buddies.....

YOU didn't fail soldier. This administration is the failure...

3. It was encouraging to see the 3 wounded soldiers get results

in Washington, finally. And a repub got the ball rolling for the insurance plan. What an idea. Imagine, a soldier gets wounded and his life is hanging by a thread and his poor family must get help from the community and churches to get airfare to the base where he will be arriving. Then the families must deal with the lack of income due to the wife having to quit her job to help him, and that one guy had 2 little ones. It's all so sad. It is like they are being punished for being injured. Of course it is the lack of money since I'm afraid the govt. contractors are ripping them and us off. This story is growing every day, I think. We can hope.

I watched the following program "The Snipper" and it too was depressing. He was also very dedicated to his buddies. They are all they have over there in that dreadful situation. The guys have no place to get a break once they are over there from the constant threat of being blown up, or so it seems.

Course the Iraqis don't have it any better, their whole life now is this war and the constant threat of being blown up. Damn I hate bush. I believe he hasn't a clue what a disaster he has caused.

Hey, welcome to DU!

4. Anybody else notice them showing Walter Reed?
I posted the message below in a Walter Reed thread, I didn't see this one. Yes, very sad.

Watching Coming Home about severely injured service members and their struggles, extraordinary struggles.

MSNBC keeps flashing on prosthetics moving down the halls of Walter Reed and the floors are polished and the walls are clean and white.

All the facilities look top notch and clean, but the narrator isn’t giving the names of any others, just Walter Reed.

A picture is worth a thousand words? I don’t believe this is not purposeful.

Just had a news update on MSNBC about the deplorable conditions at Walter Reed, waiting to see if there are more pretty pictures, just to feed the cognitive dissonance.
