The MSM may be beating the drums for war against Iran (CNN)
At home getting ready for my last day of work before a long vacation, and I asked myself, "Should I turn on the news this morning?" Usually, I don't have time just to sit down and watch because I have 3 kids and 2 dogs to take care of, but school is out and my wife and I don't have to worry about taking care of those chores. So, I had a little time. Instead of turning on BBC America, I had to flip the channel to CNN. Big mistake, because I always get pissed when I watch "news" from both our local and national "media."

Well, CNN has "obtained" videotape proving that Iran is training insurgents to fight and kill American forces in Iraq. All I could think of was how our media was going to play this card. Will they once again beat the drums for war? Is the White House providing more of their "suggestions" to the MSM? Is this a way for the MSM and the administration to get us ready once again for another shock and awe campaign.

It made me sick. Why did I have to turn this on? I guess I just need to focus on the positive and get ready to have a few weeks off. And of course, during that time, get my info from the internets and the BBC. Our media is definitely bought and paid for.

In Case You Missed it
Secret US air force team to perfect plan for Iran strike

By Sarah Baxter, Washington

Original date of publication - September 23, 2007

18/06/08 "The Times" -- THE United States Air Force has set up a highly confidential strategic planning group tasked with “fighting the next war” as tensions rise with Iran.

Project Checkmate, http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Project_CHECKMATE#_note-Bax
a successor to the group that planned the 1991 Gulf War’s air campaign, was quietly reestablished at the Pentagon in June.

It reports directly to General Michael Moseley, the US Air Force chief, and consists of 20-30 top air force officers and defence and cyberspace experts with ready access to the White House, the CIA and other intelligence agencies.

Detailed contingency planning for a possible attack on Iran has been carried out for more than two years by Centcom (US central command), according to defence sources.

Checkmate’s job is to add a dash of brilliance to Air Force thinking by countering the military’s tendency to “fight the last war” and by providing innovative strategies for warfighting and assessing future needs for air, space and cyberwarfare.

It is led by Brigadier-General Lawrence “Stutz” Stutzriem, who is considered one of the brightest air force generals. He is assisted by Dr Lani Kass, a former Israeli military officer and expert on cyberwarfare.

The failure of United Nations sanctions to curtail Iran’s nuclear ambitions, which Tehran claims are peaceful, is giving rise to an intense debate about the likelihood of military strikes.

4. They have a video they haven't shown yet?

A video that will be SO devastating, so explosive that it will cause public outrage? That will cause Americans to be GLUED to their TV screens watching this "exclusive" footage?

Well, I guess they don't want that.

That should be an interesting video to see. I wonder if the targets in the training films are wearing American flags; and if the Iranian instructors are yelling at them in English, things like, "Kill the Americans, kill the Americans."

You'd think the Iranians would wise up and try to disguise what they're doing a little bit more. :sarcasm:

8. No, it was that morning crew
You know, two "beautiful people" who read the teleprompters and want us to have a "good day." Murrow, Huntley, and Brinkley are probably turning in their graves.
