Can you imagine an old and bitter Ann Coulter alone with no family and an apartment filled with empty Chardonnay bottles. She'll be a long forgotten has-been who will do anything to get just 5 more minutes of national exposure.

It's happened before...

In 1989, as fascination with Downey's show had begun to wane, he claimed he was attacked in a San Francisco International Airport restroom by neo-Nazis who supposedly painted a swastika on his face and attempted to shave his head. Inconsistencies in Downey's account (e.g. the swastika on his forehead was painted in reverse, suggesting that Downey had drawn it himself in a mirror) and the failure of the police to find evidence supporting his story led many to suspect the incident was a hoax and plea for attention. In a 1992 radio interview with Howard Stern, after the statute of limitations had run out on the crime of making a false report to police, Downey admitted the incident was staged.

She is by all accounts a fairly intelligent attorney (can't get into Michigan Law if you are stupid).

However, in the dog eat dog world of the law, you are one of thousands of aspiring attorneys and she found her niche. Hate rhetoric. She figured out that old geezers like Scaife were willing to fund her rants because they wanted someone else (not them) to be the ones frothing at the mouth in the public eye....and she decided the pay was sufficient to take on that part.

I think she will end up like ole Phyllis Schafly, an old grand dame with giant pearls around her gaunt neck and some creepy young dude who keeps her in gin and tonics and makes her feel younger than she is...
