The retarded Florida Republican bumper sticker!
I saw this on a Cadlillac (what else?) being driven around Orlando today. It's a red, white and blue sticker saying:

DRILL HERE

RIGHT NOW

CHEAP GAS

Obviously, this guy wants to wreck our beaches and environment right now because his gas-guzzling Richie Rich-Mobile is getting low on gas.

It would be wonderful if there was some kind of counter-sticker that could be produced by Florida Democrats, but as I've often pointed out, there IS no Florida Democratic Party.

1. What a wonderful idea.
Perhaps they could start on the 68 million acres they all ready have and leave our coasts alone.

4. Probably somebody who lives a little bit inland
and can no longer get through that unbroken wall of high rise condos that Jeb and his cronies put up to keep the peasants off the beach to see anything the oil drilling might spoil.

Yeah, it's stupid, but I could understand that particular sentiment, having experienced the destruction of an unspoiled public beach by developers first hand.

8. "Well, the Chinese already are..."
I heard it twenty times at work this past week.

And I kept telling them that Cheney was lying and showing them the article proving Cheney was lying.

The GOP has an incredible propoganda machine. I believe this incidence was just the start of ore to come.

10. There may be some infighting among Florida Repugs
I'm sure some Florida Repugs are involved with the tourism industry.

Florida CFO: Don't End the Oil Drilling Ban
Posted By:Cadie Thompson

Alex Sink, Florida Chief Financial Officer, said Friday she is not in favor of offshore drilling because of the negative effect it would have on Florida’s $60 billion tourism industry.

“I think this is a very shortsighted approach to put our economy at risk for oil drilling along the coast when we all know that the first drop of oil wouldn’t even come for ten years,” Sink said.

She said she was “stunned” to hear that the governor of Florida, Charlie Crist, changed his opinion on offshore drilling.

No matter from what corner they originate, I hope these voices are heard in order that environmental disasters are averted.
