If Libby is guilty, many believe Cheney will be next for Fitzgerald to investigate. This health problem will be the perfect excuse for Cheney to resign, diverting attention away from the misadminstration.

And if Libby is found innocent, Cheney can stay on and treat the ailment with blood thinners.

Seems a bit too convenient to me.

They just wanted the health issue to be in the news before the verdict came back. And with Cheney out of the country prior to, it would have been easy enough to back track and say the condition developed while he was on the trip, but nothing was said so that he could finish and return home.

People like Cheney, live their lives on a treadmill--running away from themselves.
Hurting others, causing suffering and manipulating people, provides "supply" that
fuels that treadmill. Pretty soon, they just can't keep up--and the body wears
down.
