Can someone explain to me why Fitz is not going after Cheney?
Or ANYONE else? He said that it was a fact that Plame's identity was classified. Wouldnt that mean there was a crime? At Libbys indictment, he said someone threw sand in his eyes. Well did he get them washed out yet?

Will something else happen? Is this over according to him? Doesnt he have enough now?

4. I hope he proves me wrong
but I suspect that the repuke damage control plan has gone as planned.

They have a fall guy guilty of relatively minor crimes and the thrust of official curiosity has been redirected away from the much more serious crimes

8. IMHO at lot depends on Mrs. Libby -- I get the feeling she is pretty upset
If I were her I would not want my husband to take the fall for Dick Cheney

20. Bush's pardon power runs out the day he leaves office.
The statute of limitations for the real crime of outing Plame will last long after Bush is gone. If Libby is smart he'll make a deal with Fitz at some point down the road.

10. I think all the "deals" made in order to convict Libby of perjury
have pretty much precluded that. Ironic, isn't it?

Their plan worked out very well for them

12. I think he's left it open. In fact, David Shuster said this afternoon
that "The door is open" now for Scooter Libby to give more info.

Very telling, I think.

21. Yup, and I believe that this is why Harry Reid came right out,
soon after the verdict was announced, and demanded that Bush not give pardon Libby.

19. Don't count on it.
If he had not been involved in a more serious offense, he wouldn't have obstructed justice.

13. I believe Fitz is waiting for one or more things to happen before he proceeds next:
1. Libby to spill the details on the OVP's office during that summer of 2003.
2. The Wilson civil suit and the details/facts that will bring out.
3. Congressional investigations.

One or even more of the above would compel Fitz to move again. Fitz's statement said "THIS" investigation is inactive (which could be interpreted/parsed to mean Scooter's investigation only.)

14. Maybe he is waiting for 'certain' people to step forward now with more specific information
so that he can open a new investigation which will include the Dick and hopefully others.

I remain optimistic.

15. are you saying
you spoke with Fitz and this is what he told you? That he's not going after Cheney? If he didn't tell you himself, then chances are you may not actually know what he has planned next and you've made an assumption that everything is done and over with.

Fitz is famous for keeping his cards to his vest, so I doubt he'd publicly announce who he's going after next. Besides, if there are grounds for Impeachment in this case, that would be Congress' job to do and then any unlawfulness above and beyond that Fitz could zero in on.

25. I am "inactive" too, but in a second I will get up
Did fitzgerald say the investigation was "dead?"

No.

Yes he said no new charges,

But he qualified the statement -- no new charges unless they receive new information.

He said Libby was free to contact him.

Note that Fitzgerald is a lawyer and a damn good one. And consequently he talks like a lawyer too --

He's being very careful and my guess is he'll end up unraveling the whole administration.

24. he said if new information came forward, those plans could change
MEANING:

If Scooter wants to reduce his sentence by giving up someone else, then new charges could be filed.
