How will law & order McCain vote on FISA bill? |
|
He's a Senator. He's a patriotic American (isn't he?)
What is at question with this FISA bill is not fear, but a fundamental right enumerated and protected by law.
Will he politicize this Constitutional issue to benefit himself and his party?
Does it matter?

2. That's not leadership; that's cowardice. |
|
I think I kinda like that this went to the Senate.
All we need is one person to stop it.
But, it's nice to see how Admiral McCombover will be influenced by his lobbyist/advisers.

Of course. I could be wrong—he might just vote for it, figuring that 98% of Americans don't give a damn. And he'd be right about that, pretty much.

7. McCain will vote for it |
|
Bush told him to, after all.
He'll have some excuse about how they are "protecting us" by raping us to boot...and far too many people wills see the logic of that.

8. That's what I'm thinking, but... |
|
...will he be able to weasel out of the criticisms that he is doing it to appease his lobbyist advisors or that he is doing Bush's bidding?
Without more fear of another terrorist attack under a GOP administration, how will the GOP-controlled media be able to apologize their way out of this failure of leadership?
If McCain were my son, I'd be ashamed.

11. The GOP's line is that this is not a constitutional issue |
|
So the weaseling will be easy with such a weak media.
He'll vote for it to protect us from terrorist rag heads. So he'll say.

15. If McCain were your son you'd be around a hundred... |
|
Sorry, wrong I know but it just popped in my head
Late 80's at a minimum anyways if you had him real young...

9. He won't. He can't be bothered with voting and taking stands. |
|
He is grubbing for money for a losing campaign. Most absent Senator this year.

If he misses this vote, it's just more proof he is weak when it comes to National Security.
And by security, I mean the security of the Constitution.

13. He would be much better off politically voting against it. He needs some |
|
headlines, some respect, some independence.

14. There will probably be enough votes for him to get away with a no vote... |
|
...since Lieberman will vote for it.
I would like to hear what arguments he will use against his fellow authoritarians.
