Am I alone in feeling this is an hollow victory?
Considering the scale of offenses by this administration, one person convicted for lying and obstruction seems a little anti-climatic.

I suppose I should try to see the silver lining, but Fitz closed up shop long ago & the spin machines are going full throttle to obfuscate the situation for the few Americans who even know who Libby is. We can't count on the media to connect the dots.

So, I guess that leaves us with Congress.....color me underwhelmed.

1. I rather think of it as the tip of the iceberg.
But they, that's just me.

17. "first day we've seen justice in 7 years"
Don't forget about Cunningham, Ney, Delay, and Abramoff.

Oh yeah, Rumsfeld, McClellan, and Powell were part of the Bush administration until they were marched out of work with their tail between their legs.

Both Bush and Cheney are hated by more people than probably anyone else in the world - including all of America's "enemies".

We really have taken down a lot of these folks, and embarrassed many others.

5. An onion has many layers - Libby is one of them
And one that's pretty close to the center of things. This is an important victory because once again the public gets a glimpse into the corruption of the administration.

9. Did Scooter Libby obstruct investigation? THAT is what this trial
was about....all the other stuff. - the outing of Plame, the conspiracy etc.. is yet to come.

Fitz has explained many times that he had to stay within the narrow parameters of the subpoenas in order to get a conviction. . This is just the beginning. Have faith!

10. no you're not alone
I thought I'd be giddy today, but hearing it, I kinda went ... "meh!"

I KNOW nothing is going to be done to take care of the real criminals in the administration.

I just KNOW nothing is going to happen.

It wasn't the thrill I thought it was going to be!

11. Not Ending Point. STARTING Point
It's not really the ending point.

It's the starting point of the real effort to impeach * and Cheney -- and to finally be rid of both of them.

21. Did I misunderstand Fitzgerald's statement?
"I do not expect to file any further charges, the investigation was inactive prior to the trial," the Chicago-based federal attorney who led the prosecution said. "We're all going back to our day jobs."

18. Libby was a pawn, maybe a knight or bishop.
Though enough damage has been done that maybe we could take out a rook (Rove or Gonzales) or even the queen (Cheney) and put the Administration's entire game in danger.

It's definitely a victory, but there's still much work to be done.

Funny the media I am watching says serious trouble ahead for Cheney and that Libby lied to protect Cheney.

until the cabal is in prison I will take all these little victories with a huge grain of salt.
