Troll post at HuffPo RE: Libby & the Pursuit of Freedom
Edited on Tue Mar-06-07 04:06 PM by mod mom
Although many of you would openly mock the pursuit of Freedom, the President, his administration, and still well over 20% of the American public understand that the pursuit of Freedom takes precedence over all previous existing rules and/or laws. Therefore, not only will Scooter Libby go free, he will be hailed as a national hero and be cited as an example to anyone lest they dare question the motives of the President again.

Killing in the name of Freedom is perfectly acceptable. Should your very own mother be labeled by the powers that be to be an 'evil-doer' or an enemy of Freedom, the truly patriotic American would have no problem killing his own mother and then parading her traitorous carcass through the streets to serve as an example to all other traitors. This is the true nature of Patriotism in a post 9/11 world.

Lying is also perfectly acceptable in the name of Freedom. Scooter Libby should be able to say anything to anyone at any time in order to discredit the evil dissent of such scoundrels as Joe Wilson. Who cares if his wife was undercover or whatever? All that matters is winning and Scooter Libby did everything to ensure that our side won and his side lost. What a loser he is! What a super winner Scooter Libby is! Hooray for everyone who will do and say anything in the name of Freedom!

Blind obedience to Freedom is the same as Patriotism in a post 9/11 world. The Libby jury will see that, the President most definitely sees that, and all of America will eventually see it or they will all pay the ultimate price.

10. Without going to the link to make sure, that seems like satire
it's too outrageous to be someone's actual opinion.

I hope.

15. Thanks for this info:
pretty scarey stuff:

It did not matter whether Valerie Plame may or may not have been a CIA agent. It did not matter that this was done purely out of spite against Joe Wilson. It did not matter that a concerted and planned effort was made by key members of the Bush administration to punish anyone who would dare criticize them. All that can and will ever matter is a pure blinding faith in the ideology of Freedom. Scooter Libby is the very picture of modern day patriotism in that he was and still is willing to do whatever to whoever without conscience. Who cares whether it was against the law or whether he lied and broke laws to do it? All that can and will ever matter is blind obedience to Freedom.

BUT THE TELL TALE SIGN SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE CORRECT SPELLING. :hi:

14. Sounds more like a Totalitarian Nightmare, patterned after the Nazis, than Freedom to me.
Dear Fool,

Your definitions of Freedom: blind obedience, killing, and lying, does nothing for patriotism, but is the tenents of totalitarian regimes throughout history. I would suggest that you are a true neo-Nazi and your super-nationalism isn't very welcome here, where we support the rule of law.

17. Hilarious! Although kind of scary that it's hard to tell the whackjobs from the satirists anymore.
It's gotten to the point where no matter how far out there you go to make fun of them and laugh at their lunacy, they go even further - and they're serious about it. But like Mod Mom said above, the proper spelling (and grammar) were the dead giveaway.
