Edwards Statement on Libby Verdict
John Edwards for President
Mar 6, 2007

Chapel Hill, North Carolina — Senator John Edwards released the following statement today about the recent verdict finding Vice President Cheney’s former Chief of Staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby guilty on multiple counts in the CIA leak case.

"Today's verdict in the Libby case is an important step in holding the Administration accountable for its consistent misuse and manipulation of intelligence to further its ideological agenda. But there are serious questions about whether the buck actually stopped with Scooter Libby. The American people deserve to know if Mr. Libby has been made a scapegoat in order to protect anyone else."

4. There is no "serious question" at where the buck stops
Please stop the awe shucks huckleberry bs and call him a traitor. Call him out and state (or state "i think") that Bush deliberately lied to the American people to get us in to war.

Do it! Because, yes, there, just might:eyes: be more to this!

6. I missed it - I'm sure it was great -
Here's some of the transcript:

“I think that the American people deserve to know how far this goes,” Edwards said. “You know, does it stop at Scooter Libby? Does it go to others in the administration, the vice president, Karl Rove and others?”

That is why it is imperative, Edwards said, that President Bush not pardon Libby to block him from cooperating with prosecutors while his convictions are on appeal.

“This is a situation where he has been convicted of a crime committed as part of his official responsibilities and working for the vice president,” Edwards said. “He absolutely should not be pardoned. There should be accountability.”
