Please, please, please do NOT give this asshole Sampley even a second of airtime when criticizing McCain, as he is truly one of the worst human beings I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Sampley has spent the last several decades pursuing a crazed both McCain and John Kerry (y'all should remember him from 2004 especially), as in his mind he thinks they have both worked to coverup the existence of POWs still alive in Vietnam and for their support of normalizing relations. He has whipped up false support in numerous POW families that their sons/husbands/etc are still alive and the US knows about it. Google for Edwin B. Tucker for another notorious backfired PR event. McCain's staff even had to file a restraining order angainst him once after his assault and battery on a staff member.

There are many many things to condemn McCain about, we all know that. Just do not use or cite Ted Sampley in it, as it only hurts the criticism.

And I don't mean to single out you in particular. :) Just that the mere mention of this asshat makes my blood boil for what he's done, to McCain, to Kerry, and to the POW families. Maybe I'll make a general post about him in a few, as some here just may not know who he is.

I'm just saying that when some of us say something nasty about McNASTY, somebody immediately pops up to find reasons NOT to say them.

I posted about McNASTY's possible role in the USS Forrestal fire with lives lost and a self-proclaimed aircraft sailor was incensed---forget that McNASTY was immediately transferred to another duty station before the investigation was completed.


After a lifetime of seeing my Dem candidates LOSE-----NOBLY----- while Rethugs get away with despicable dirty tricks, and especially after 2000 I am TIRED of being told "We're better than them, we don't DO that!1" FUCK that shit!1

However, it's quite possible to do so without enabling other evil right-wingers. After all, it's the *right wing* that we all oppose here, not just one or two members of it. McInsane is their biggest current representative, but what good would it be to defeat him if it just leads to other right-wingers gaining control? I do realize that divisions among the right may be good news for left/liberals; but ALL right-wing leaders are promoters of harmful and dangerous policies.

If you search my posts at DU, you will find that I ALWAYS object to citing the Daily Hate-Mail; it has nothing to do with any support or even tolerance for McInsane. 70 years ago, they supported the Nazis and serialized the 'Protocols'; now they whip up hatred against immigrants, Muslims and gypsies.

ETA: It's public record that he dumped his first wife for a newer model. We don't need to go to the Hate-Mail or Sampley for that!
