Let's assume, just for the sake of assumption, three things:
that it will take six months to get Scooter Libby sentenced to prison
that Bush won't pardon Scooter Libby because the Senior Republicans (you know, the same guys who ran off Nixon, or at least their successors) will tell Bush "look, you simple SOB, if you pardon Scooter Libby we'll impeach you ourselves."
and that the death and casualty rates in Iraq remain stable.
As of today, we're sitting at 3185 KIAs in the Iraq War, a number that's going up by about 125 per month. In six months, we're looking at somewhere between 3900 and 4000 total KIAs from Iraq alone. Figure a total of...oh, maybe 30,000 total physical casualties. (By "physical casualties" I mean wounds of some sort, but not diseases or mental conditions.)
Of these four thousand dead soldiers and 30,000 total casualties, at least one of those guys has a brother who's serving a life sentence in the prison they're going to put Scooter Libby in. This guy's pissed he's in the slammer, he's pissed his brother's dead and he's pissed that one of the people responsible for creating the conditions under which his brother became dead is now on the cellblock.
Forget rape, folks. Scooter needs to worry about getting killed.
