Boston.com cites Kerry joke "about the education levels of US troops"
 :grr:  :grr:

It's times like this when you begin to understand why so many of Kerry's
generation turned away from public service and the hope for America they
had in the early 60s.

How many of those Kerry bashers (especially here on DU, Republicans have
all admitted the truth about Kerry swift II) are deliberately pretending,

and how many are, to misquote Adlai Stevenson in another career-ending
quote made up by the opposition, "just too damn dumb to understand"?

4. It's no accident why they do this.. Look at how Carter's being demonized now./
As long as Jimmy was just the "election-moniter/house-builder", he was a beloved old guy...BUT the second he started speaking out,he became an object of derision..and it continues.

There's an important election coming up, and the people who own media cannot take any chances.

7. Globe has always slammed Kerry
every chance.
I was actually looking forward to Kerry setting the record straight this campaign too!
Oh well, he will do so down the road.

9. This is not the worst they've treated him
Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 06:35 PM by karynnj
The first question he got at the press conference when he and his doctors dicussed his cancer was an ugly "why didn't you tell us the truth when we asked why you looked sick?" He answered very simply that there were friends and relatives that didn't know then, there were more tests to be done to answer if it had spread, and he wanted to be able to tell the press with his doctor when all the questions could be answered. The reporter followed up by asking how he could be trusted. All in the front of the national media - even though in over 20 years of covering him he had never lied to them.

6. I bet most people reading this didn't even have a problem with Boston Globe's statement.
That's why this thread has got so few hits.

"Where's the beef?" they are wondering.

10. It's like Bill Maher said - You need help to fake that amount of outrage.
So, don't forget your bottle of Feign-Feign.

Hillary bought a bottle - and joined Bush and McCain and scolded Kerry for saying something so 'inappropriate' when she knew damn well he dropped a pronoun. And after millions of us Dems defended her husband for YEARS for dropping his pants.

11. She is the ultimate liar -- saying publically how she intended to ruin her husband's mistrisses
Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 03:49 AM by Leopolds Ghost
Even though she knew they were telling the truth.

If she had taken a different tack, perhaps asking Americans
to forgive her husband for his sexual transgressions, many
people would think of her entirely differently --

precisely because they DID forgive Bill for his transgressions.

But many DIDN'T forgive Hillary for her dishonest attitude.

It is one thing to lie about an affair, that is not an offense
at all, much less an impeachable one.

it is another to publically pledge to "ruin" and "go after"
the person on the other side of the affair.

It speaks of a heightened sense of self-importance and contempt
for one's lessers, in a country where most Americans side with
the mistress, not the lady of the manor. If the mistress DOES
turn out to be vindictive trailer trash, well, the spouse should
be above that. Goes for men, too. Imagine if Bill had publically
pledged to "ruin the lives" of his former mistresses.

She is like the farmer's wife who beats the servant-girl
whom she suspects is sleeping with her husband.

And then she went after Kerry, an honorable man, with the same attitude.
