US Quits UN Human Rights Council
US refuses to join UN rights council, citing its actions against Israel

The United States will not seek a seat on the UN Human Rights Council, senior officials said Tuesday, asserting the body had lost its credibility with repeated attacks on Israel and a failure to confront other rights abusers.

The council was created over the objections of the United States, which said there were insufficient safeguards to prevent human rights-abusing nations from dominating the group. It's members are chosen from among UN states each year.

I'm old enough to remember when the US used to lead the world against human rights violations

Abu Ghareb and Guantanamo.....I watched the "The Ghosts of Abu Ghareb"....and Rumsfeld opened the way to hell for America and any possibility to claim righteousneous.......

As one of the Iraqi's said in the movie while he and others listened to the torture of another man...."We heard his soul break......"

I love America and I love my fellow Americans but two wrongs don't make a right....

Rumsfeld should be brought up on "Crimes against Humanity"...

4. In other news...
an earthquake was reported in upstate New York. The epicenter of the quake was found at the grave of Eleanor Roosevelt where the former First Lady was found to be spinning at the rate of 1 million RPM.
