Book Rec. For A Conservative Friend - Need Suggestions

I have an open-minded conservative friend who is trying to broaden her political horizons by reading books written by both conservatives and liberals. Recently she read a book that portrayed Al Gore's role in the 2000 election fiasco very negatively, and has stated that she would now like to read another book about election stuff written from the other perspective.

So, DUers, I need your help. Can someone recommend a left-leaning (or simply reality based) book about one of the two following topics:

1) The "stealing" or fradulent activity that Bush's people engaged in during the 2000 election
2) All of the voting issues that took place in 2004

I would especially love for her to read something about #2, because I don't think she has a good awareness of how serious the problems were during that election cycle and I think it would be a very eye-opening experience for her.

A book no one should miss (and it hits both your noted topics) is "So Wrong For So Long: How The Press, The Pundits - And The President - Failed On Iraq." It's compelling reading, consisting of news reports, with the author's editorial comments and comparisons.

The author, Greg Mitchell, is the editor of Editor & Publisher.

It's a brilliant piece of work.
