As most of you know,my county is 70% Repub,and the FRers here will waste no time smearing me.This is late,as congress voted yesterday,but hopefully the message is loud and clear.Our letters are judged by rating,comments and most read.Help me get on the front page...Love you guys!

To the Editor,

Yet another “Let them eat cake” maneuver by congressional Republicans is coming to fruition. Senate Bill 3101 is aimed at reversing a 10 percent reduction in physician payments effective July 1. Physicians are already seeing a reduction in reimbursement due to the rising number of uninsured and underinsured patients and stricter insurance reimbursement policies. Senate Republicans, including our own John Cornyn, banded together to block this bill, creating a 54-39 vote, thus preventing cloture.

The AMA is opposing this selfish action by these elected officials.We, as Americans, must place the health and well-being of our citizens above the partisan maneuvers of some individuals. If this action is endorsed by the Republican Party, they need to own up to it and apologize to the physicians and patients it will harm. Such spiteful disregard for our aging population and the doctors who serve them is tragic.

Remember this when voting in November.
