Smear email debunking site, http://www.truthorfiction.com/
Is this a reliable site? It seems to be a good one for debunking the ridiculous righty smears that come in email form (and which my mom occasionally forwards to me). I need something to point to that she will believe, because just my say-so isn't enough. Once someone gets scared, it's pretty hard to reason with them, but I try.

1. It's been around for a while.
It's probably just as credible as snopes.com.

3. Holy Cow! The Right Wing certainly have cornered the market on mass emails. What's our problem?
How come their isn't a progressive group that isn't as aggressive on mass emailing?

6. The content isn't the issue.
The issue is why is the right is more successful in getting their messages out than the left?

7. I refer you to my comment (#5)
We have the information, people just have to take a minute to put it in email, fill up the addresses and hit send.

And or post links on other websites.

10. I have been talking and e-mailing to people, and when they send
out Republican lies, I find the verifiable truth and send it to them.

5. Here is a small but solid resource guide to debunk some of the common Obama smears...

If you're not sure how to respond to those laughably bad, factually inaccurate anti-Obama smear emails and or you want more information on John McCain, here is a nice

8. point mom here:
I've sent this link to some members of my extended family and to friends:

http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/fightthesmearshome/

As for other rumors I'd say to use the top notch site:
http://www.snopes.com

There's something really funny about this truth or fiction site. It seems to be a way to mostly repeat the smears. If you look closely at a number of the links it really seems that way to me.

As for mass emails to people, my guess is that it's best to leave that to the folks who do it so "well" -- the repugs.

Just my opinion...

9. Those are good links. But I have to disagree on the emails
I agree, leave fear mongering smear emails to the folks who do it so well (the right).

But I see no reason to not send out fact based emails. In fact, I think it's something we should be doing and strongly encouraging! Why miss out on a great method of communication with thousands or possibly millions or tens of millions of people?

It's a no-brainer IMO.
