The Right wing is "on point" about gas prices .... selling "the lie"
From the President, to Hannity, to Mark Levin, to Rush, and so on (i had a 6 hour drive so
I got a good dose of "the lie" today) all had this talking points down:

The reason why gas prices are so high is because the oil companies can't drill in Alaska & off the coasts ...
it is the evil democrats in congress fault gas is @ $4.50/gallon

BTW do you think even if those oil companies could start pumping the oil which is now off limits
tomorrow they would sell it @ less than market value?

Hypothetical Oil Company CEO .... "Well the world market is paying $150.00 a barrel for oil but now that
we can drill in Alaskawe are going to sell it for $60.00 to the American market and piss away trillions of
dollars in profit. You ask me why we would do this? Because the Congress followed the lead of that
wonderful man George W Bush."

We must push back and not let them sell the lie this time.

What about the fact that President "Shit for Brains" started a war in the region that supplies much
of the world's oil and this made getting the oil to market harder and less reliable and so the price
of a barrel of oil has gone up??????????

2. Bush's symbolic little lifting of executive order to allow offshore drilling sent me into a
slap-the-shit-out-of republicans today. And McFuck's call to Obama to support it. Grrrrrr. This is how they think they will win the election. Blame the democrats for not supporting more drilling while they already have leased areas where they haven't done a thing.

Just when I think my rage has subsided, they open their mouths and I want to rip their skin off. I really realy really can't stand republicans.

3. Don't you know that if congress let them drill in Alaska that gas .....
..... would be 50 cents a gallon and that all little girls would get a pony as a pet?

4. I haven't listened to Hannity, Mark Levin, or Rush
But if they are telling their listeners that US oil majors will undercut global prices for the benefit of Amerkans, they're being more stupid than untruthful. The lie that BushCain is spouting: that consumers can expect relief at the pumps the minute the Chimp puts his handprint on a bill to open up ANWR and offshore drilling; has been debunked by the Energy Information Agency. There will be no production from these areas for many years after leases are signed, and no significant impact on prices until 2030.

And that is assuming global oil depletion hasn't brought the whole house of cards down long before then.

6. Even if we said drill in ANWR today ....
.... the oil would not be "in" for years and most of it would be sold to Japan & China.

The whole thing is a big fat lie.

5. By selling oil under market value wouldn't that
be nationalization and market manipulation? I thought the freepers were deathly against anything that wasn't pure capitalist crack.

7. Require all cars to get better than 30 mpg. Then drill. Compromise.
Part of any bill to drill should include this requirement. Why should we drill when some gas pig in a Hummer eats up half of what we pump from the new well?

Even Ditto heads can see that this is sensible. Otherwise, tell them to walk to church.

(Also, why not change local mail delivery: 5 days instead of 6?)
