Is there ANY doubt now that Rachael Maddow
deserves her own show. The only thing I miss about KO being on vacation is Worst Persons. Otherwise, I would just as soon watch Dr Maddow.:)

1. I'd rather watch both....Rachel can't deliver a special comment like Keith can.
She needs her own show reflecting her own style.

5. The chatter was the MSNBC was giving her a few trial runs to see if she merited her own show....
.... I think she's more than proven that she does. ...... And why is there such a high burden of proof for her? (Not that I'm insinuating the fact that she's liberal, female, outspoken and openly gay has ANYTHING to do with MSNBC's waffling, mind you. :) )
They let Tucker Carlson have a show with ratings in the negative numbers for HOW long? :wtf:

14. If they think they can make money with Rachel, they'll find a place for her.
I would be more in favor of putting her in Dan Abrams' spot right after Keith. Earlier in the evening she might get ignored...that Tucker time slot ain't good. Let "Dancing With Rove" David Gregory languish there. It's where he'll do the least damage.

Rachel should be in the spotlight, just like Keith.

And I like David Shuster too, even though they've got a shock collar on him right now.

3. For fuck's sake, please don't put one before the other. Give her her own show.
We're trying to take back the media -- not get into an internecine competition.

8. I'd watch both shows, but I think MSNBC wouldn't do it.
She could easily replace the guy after Countdown--whats-his-name-Abrams. I don't care for the food fight format in political shows.

The problem is that KO's and Maddow's content would overlap so much. Often I hear her talking about things on her radio show that Keith then also covers in almost the same way. I wonder if they could become dual anchors and share Countdown in some way. Maddow could do the interviews, for example.

I would like to see Countdown become more content-rich. The first 20 minutes are great--but then all the "Oddball", "Bushed", "Worst Persons" and celebrity segments make me yawn. But what do I know--I'm just a few years older than their targeted demographic.

Do you younger political junkies enjoy those segments? My ideal show would be as content-rich as Newshour, but as far to the left as Countdown.

18. I share your opinion.
Somehow I find those segements juvenile and sort of embarrassing. I'm older, too, but I do have a sense of humor, and these things are really neither funny or clever.

9. Thank you.
What, two liberal voices on the vast RW corporate disinformation machine is too many? Can't support one without denigrating or slighting the other? We need MORE liberal voices on the Corporate media. Not less, not one or the other.

WTF is it with the two steps forward, one step back disease?

7. Keith
Keith blows Rachel's doors off.

This two week vacation is nothing more than a cynical plot by Keith to make us all appreciate him much more when he comes back next week.

(Uh, he is coming back next week, yes?)

Just kidding. It's best when Rachel and Keith riff together. They are both very smart, well informed and extremely quick. Rachel has a place relatively close to where I live, yet she's never stopped in to say hello. Just as well, my wife would leave me for her, and my wife is about 98% hetero.

11. Except that... in Pittsburgh,.... MSNBC was moved off of basic cable today.....is this a trend?

Is corporate-owned media trying to kill the ONE station that is willing to have liberal hosts?

12. She Should Get The 10:00 pm Slot
It would be perfect for her:

1.) Guarantees that everyone can watch her every night.

2.) She can return to her quirky sense of humor..ahem..paging Kent Jones

3.) She can be a little edgier, hipper at 10:00 pm

17. I would like to see her co-host for a while
while she's letting her wings dry. Give her time to polish and put the finishing touches on her delivery

I love her. Not in a sexual sense but in a patriotic way
