Billboard displays burning World Trade Center with slogan, 'Please Don't Vote for a Democrat'
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Billboard_uses_burning_WTC_to_say_0715.html

A political billboard in St. Cloud, Florida reads "Please Don't Vote for a Democrat" over an image of the burning World Trade Center.

Businessman Mike Meehan, who paid for the ad, says he's "only trying to help Republicans." The billboard also carries a link for Meehan's website, TheRepublicanSong.com, at which he says, "I claim to be a man of God" and promotes his political song and video.

1. I guess he forgot which party let it happen
after they'd demoted the man in charge of tracking bin Laden, canceled the investigation into the Cole bombing, and ignored all the warning memos in their rush to war in Iraq.

Meehan is slime. I hope this crap loses him business.

12. Perhaps we could call Ron English out of his "retirement" to help with that?

I'm sure he'd like to put up some counter "Popaganda" up instead, and do it in GOOD style too!

I wish I had the money to put it to the test, but I'm pretty damned sure if I wanted to put a picture of a mutilated Iraqi child with them message "Please Don't Vote for a Republican" they'd turn it down.

32. The irony is
you could put that same billboard up saying "Please don't vote Republican," but my guess is they would have turned that down as quickly as a casualty of war image.

Is that 911 happened on your pretzledent's watch. He ignored the daily briefings and had " no idea that a plane could be used as a weapon," even though on that day, exercises were being employed playing out just that scenerio. I'm sure you've probably got selective amnesia, so to refresh your memory, I'll point out that terrorists attempted to bring down WTC while a democrat was in office and the culprits were actually captured, prosecuted and jailed, unlike another pretzledent, who shall remain nameless and has publicly stated that he's "really not that concerned about Osama bin Laden."

Perhaps you've covered yourself in so much red, white and blue that your body is no longer able to provide your brain with enough oxygen necessary for critical thinking?

on eidt:I'm hoping I get a reply.

25. I felt compelled to write him too (he probably won't read it, but hey...)

Subj: Timeline

January 1, 2001: George Bush takes oath of office
September 11, 2001: World Trade Towers attacked
July 15, 2008: Osama bin Laden still not caught

What the hell is the connection with the Democrats? This happened on the Republican's watch, and it wasn't just two days into office either. And he's had 7 years to get him "dead or alive".

Myopia much?

29. Well, that's bloody tasteless
Leaving aside the boneheadedness, it's just in poor taste. Certain events are so traumatic, so defining that they should not be used for political reasons (which is not to say we can't learn from them in formulating policy). Any party that used, or allowed it's supporters to use, the images of the 7/7 Tube bombings here would be lynched from the nearest lamppost.

Now to the boneheadedness. First off, Chimpy McCokespoon was in office at the time. "Ah", the Rethugs will say, "but he was still dealing with the effects of the Clinton administration". "Ah", says the enlightened mind, "then Poppy Bush was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing during Clinton's first term".

See, you can't reason with these people. Everything that is bad is the fault of liberals or Democrats or both while everything good is thanks to conservatives and/or Republicans. Remember when Chris Matthews badgered that idiot conservative radio host into finally admitting that he didn't know what Chamberlain had done? The idiot talk show host responded that Matthews should watch "The Path To 9/11", a film that's been throughly debunked by pretty much everyone and he must have known that but it was useful to his side so he used it. He wasn't lying. He was exhibiting the illness rampant among conservatives that allows them to edit their internal perception of reality to their whims. Don't bother arguing with them, they need treatment, not debate.
