What is DeMent(ed) trying to do with min wage?
I don't get it. Is his amendment saying that if a state has
already raised the min wage to say, $6.00 - then he wants
their new min wage to be $8.10? (adding $2.10).

Why would he do this? It sounds good to me - but TK is against it.

what am I missing?

1. Sounds like it might be a poison pill.
Something that might sound good, but would doom it because it would A) be vetoed and B) we wouldn't have the overriding votes.

2. Hmmm. You're probably right - since TK, after DeMent (ed)
spoke, had a big chart that show how he had voted against raising
the minimum wage every single time it came up. Showing that the
amendment was disingenuous. Wow, so blatant ! How does he sleep?

3. The minimum wage in Massachusetts
will be $8.00 next January.

The amendment would add $2.10 more if I heard correctly. I support an increase in the federal minimum wage, but I think $10.10/hr would be a strain to some employers.
