Thanks a BUNCH
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 03:52 PM by Mythsaje
When we went to the polls in '06, most of us did so with the belief that it would finally allow for a change to be seen in Washington DC, that someone, somewhere, would be held accountable for the lies and deceptions that have dropped our young men and women into TWO unwinnable wars, derailed our economy, and subjected innocent American citizens to unwarranted surveillance.

Instead, we quickly discovered that impeachment, no matter how deserved, was "off the table." We discovered that the wars would continue in much the same way as they had, that those we'd thought would finally fight for our rights would be quick to capitulate to the maniacs who are trying to flush our Constitution down the toilet. We expect that sort of thing from Republicans, but what the FUCK are the Democrats doing?

I don't know how many people don't bother to vote because they can see too little difference between the sides. I argue the point, but I can't help but wonder, are the differences all that noticable anymore? When Dennis Kucinich stands up and says "Hey, folks, these are all the reasons we need to shitcan this asshole," how many Congressional Democrats are pretending not to notice? Too many. FAR too many.

We can legitimately expect the Republicans to go along with whatever stupid ass idea these corrupt dimwits come up with, but we hoped that a Democratic majority would at least be able to derail some of this administration's excesses. We didn't expect them to stand aside and watch the crazy train go rocketing past, dragging the country ever closer to the inevitable precipice.

At this point the number of our alleged representatives who seem worth the effort and waste of good clean saliva to even spit in their eye seems to be dwindling at a frightening pace. I didn't pound the crap out of my keyboard to support their efforts to get elected in order to have them piss on my head and tell me it's raining. And make no mistake, that's PRECISELY what they're doing. We hear a host of excuses but what the hell do THEY matter? We've had enough of excuses. We wanted some results, even if they were simply reactionary. We weren't expecting forward momentum, but we DID rightfully expect some sign of a slowdown of the backwards motion we were getting from the Republicans.

So, yeah. We're a bit pissed off at them now. For whatever that's worth. Do they care? Hard to say, since it's almost impossible for us to do anything to challenge them other than to waste our votes on impossible candidates or waste our voices screeching about it to anyone who'll listen.

We've got enough barriers in our way...from an increasingly ignorant and complacent public, to a corporate media that bounces around the goatfuckers at the top whining for a juicy bone to be thrown their way like a pack of particularly stupid dogs, to supposed guardians of our liberty who abandon the field before the battle even begins.

Not all of them are useless, but to those who are, I have only one thing to say.

Thanks a bunch, assholes. I hope you get what's coming to you. And don't expect any of US to step in to take the brunt of it. You lie with weasels, you deserve what you get. Fuck you very much. Chickenshit lickspittle yapping dogs. You're a disgrace to your office and to the very citizenship of this country you claim to represent.

And you damn well know who you are.

edited to add a missed apostrophe.

4. Yeah, it's getting damn hard to argue the "they're different" argument,
when they are working so hard to prove us wrong.
