Any DU'ers have GANNETT Owned Newspapers in Their Town?
The Indianapolis Star is Gannett and it did not run ANY Libby information on it's front page thsi morning. Another DU'er in Tennessee wrote that their Gannett paper also did not run any Libby info on their front page this morning. I am curious to know if ALL Gannett papers buried the Libby story.

1. They did in Phoenix
http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/pop_up.asp?fpVname=AZ_AR&ref_pge=map&tfp_map=USA

Page 1 bold headline: "Verdict on Libby is bad for Bush." Interestingly enough, it's a story from the Christian Science Monitor.

Overall, however, it's shocking how many newspapers didn't put it on their front pages. That said, a website that honors the "best designed" front page every day picked an innovative Libby package that actually might get someone to read it:

2. I believe the Snooze Journal in Delaware is a Gannett paper.
I'm not looking at a paper copy at this moment, but at their website we have all the important stuff -

Borat, plus
# Verdict reached in Fla. girl's slaying
# Astronaut fired from NASA
# 2 winners in Mega Millions $390M jackpot
# Extreme eastern Maine awaits more light
# FEMA is selling off used trailers
# Children stranded after immigration raid
# Teen shoots girl, self at Mich. school
# Pentagon orders mine-resistant trucks
# Man arrested in Fla. bus stop abduction
# U.S. Mint goof creates 'Godless dollars'

No Libby anyplace that was readily visible. I can let you know about the paper copy when I get home.

3. Our local rag put Scooter on page 3. Not even a teaser on pg 1.
Of course, this is the same printed toilet paper that claimed that Colin Powell endorsed the "surge".

I have no idea who owns the paper.

7. The Register has always struck me as a creepy RW paper. Not overtly, just an underlying
thread directed towards the manipulation of readers.

This could be to gain trust of Democrats and the left, since Iowa is a crucial primary state.

i haven't found them to be trustworthy for at least ten years.

Maybe we'll get the 411 on the verdict in the LTTE this weekend.

5. Honolulu Advertiser: Down below the fold
it lost out to pedestrian fatalities! "Lucky we live Hawai'i"...

And, it's an LA Times story.

Astonishingly, the 'Tiser is generally the more liberal of the two competing dailies: the Star-Bulletin editorial page had changed little since the Territorial Era when it was the voice of the Big Five agriculture and shipping companies, all run by staunch repukes, of course. Lately, however, sanity appears to be slowly creeping in at the S-B, now owned by a mostly local consortium fronted by Canadian David Black, while, unsurprisingly, the 'Tiser has lurched right in lockstep with all else Gannett.

6. It was buried on page 4 in the Tennessean

Now the interesting thing is, the day after An Inconvenient Truth won two Oscars, they started the Al Gore lives in a large home on page one, and he bought that home one or two years ago.

Edit for P.S. No teasers regarding Libby Conviction on front page either.
