I went to a Democratic central committee meeting last night in a nearby county. I wanted to touch base with them, and announce some of the upcoming events that our county is hosting.
The meeting took place in the Democratic headquarters, which is a storefront with a large front window. The room was crowded. We noticed a group of about a half a dozen young women standing outside. We thought they wanted to come in, but were too shy. Someone went outside and invited them in.
They said that they noticed how crowded the room was, and they did not want to disturb our meeting. They were tourists from Denmark. They wanted some Obama memorabilia, like bumper stickers and signs. They said that Obama is very popular in Denmark, and all over Europe.
The county did not have anything to give them. Those materials are hard to keep in stock. I was sorry that they had to be turned away empty handed, but encouraged to hear how popular Obama is in Europe.
