Political Dilemma (calling all dems)
I have been running a site for almost a year now (in my sig) and out of all the message boards I have ever run it's been the most trying, obviously with the nature of politics I expected that. However, I feel like I should have adopted DU's zero tolerance policy regarding republicans.

I have always wanted to be fair minded to both parties but find it very difficult to co-exist this way. They post hit pieces on Obama and pretty much battle with everyone on the site, I have even setup a "Conservatives" forum for them to hang out in it's just a matter of enforcing it. I can see the benefit of a democratic only forum though every time I bring it up I get a lot of grief from both sides claiming they will have nothing to talk about if it's one sided.

If anyone wants to join up and help some of us dems out that would be great. I just wanted to vent here because overall it's pretty frustrating and I am sure most of this group can relate.

1. I think the DU method works better if you want to have a discussion
between certain types of people (Dems/Reps). I cannot even read sites that have both Dems and Reps on because I get so mad I end up leaving. If I want to talk to repubs I can go to their site.

2. My point exactly, it's very frustrating
the main issue with that is I would have to alienate (ban) some long time, respected members who didn't really show who they were until the election started. Yeah, I have no troubles posting here that's for sure. :D

I also hang out at the "Dayton Stoop" which has a mixed political bunch. Most of the republicans are VILE! Really and truly VILE!
They have absolutely no reasoning or intellect Its ATTACK Hit low, throw out a mess of minutia, then try to distract away from any facts and figures. And If that doesn't work they go into rabid personal attacks.Sigh.OMG and the really vile bouts of Homophobia......'shiver"
I find myself hanging out here more and more. I don't always agree with everybody But at least its intelligent conversation.
And we all have a familiar jumping off place.
I bookmarked your site ericgtr we'll see.

4. Thanks!
Most are democrats but the few republicans we have tend to ruin things in our main elections forum. I am going to have to implement some sort of rules in there.
