1. Sad truth --

When the reporter was asked what the feeling of the people in Afghanistan was about Obama, he cited that the country has been in turmoil for four decades. The people have seen US Presidents come and go, and each one telling them that they had the answer. They're not too optimistic that things will change for them, regardless of who takes office. :cry:

I HOPE we can do something to affect their future positively, but that region is in such disarray... :(

2. I saw video of Barack in the gym on my local TV news and my heart leapt

It was a wonderful scene. Mr. Smooth shooting baskets. The cheering was quite enthusiastic. Yes, I expect that we saw a "selected" crowd, but nonetheless.
