I thought if you were wearing medals you'd be wearing dress Blues or Whites

I had those back in my midshipman days, and we couldn't wear them after 1975.

5. Service Dress Khaki
It was a standard uniform for officers and chiefs up until 1974 or so. Then discontinued. Recently reintroduced for fleet ware. Believe it is still in the trial period.
