Mark your calendars! - Bush impeachment hearing on July 25
Edited on Mon Jul-21-08 08:26 PM by ck4829
The House Judiciary Committee is gearing up for hearings July 25 that could be the closest Congress ever gets to impeaching President Bush.

After insisting that a full-scale impeachment of the president would distract from the work of Congress, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi bowed to political reality this week and the House voted 238-180 to send one of Rep. Dennis Kucinich's articles of impeachment -- this one charging Bush with lying to the American public about the causes for the war in Iraq -- to the committee.

Hope it's insightful and interesting. I, however, will be getting my wisdom teeth pulled that day.

4. How interesting. Congress will be discussing articles of
impeachment. Getting this discussion going has been as painful, to get going, as pulling teeth. Also on that very same day, you too will have teeth being pulled. Hopefully your procedure will be done under anesthetic.

7. I did local, no novocaine.
I'm a miser when it comes down to it. I do not suggest this for everyone. I still get chills remembering the feeling of pressure and the crunch of bone as they broke the teeth for easier extraction <shudder>

8. TAKE ACTION!

Although this newest resolution only addresses the impeachment of George W. Bush we are certain that competent hearings will reveal impeachable crimes committed by a coterie of accomplices.

YOU CAN HELP!

Conyers stated that he needs support from other members of the House and VFP will urge its members nationwide to call on their representative to sign this latest resolution. Conyers believes that next to war, impeachment is the most important issue before Congress. He believes that his legacy will be determined by how he acts on this issue. What will move him are more co-sponsors of the resolution and heightened public awareness and movement on the issue. Is something about to break? One can pound away at a wall and not see a crack. Then the next hammer hit becomes a breakthrough. When we finally get our breakthrough we will be very happy that we stayed the course!!!

IF YOU'VE ALREADY CALLED A MEMBER OF THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE (maybe your own representative is on the committee?) THE TIME TO CALL THEM AGAIN IS NOW! 202-225-3951

AND CALL 202-224-3121 FOR THE HOUSE SWITCHBOARD AND LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR YOUR OWN REPRESENTATIVE.

9. The committee
can talk about anything deemed to be abuse of power by the president or the White House but not vote to impeach him.

"hearing" scheduled for 2 hours
