So is McCain's basic Iraq position...
... to declare that what the Iraqi president says about wanting US troops out by 2010 as irrelevant, and stay in Iraq without the stated approval of the government?

What happened to all that Iraqi sovereignty they were talking about not that long ago?

2. It's all about the surge
Forget that it was a bad idea to invade.

It's all about the surge and staying there until every damned drop of crude is pumped out. At that point, the Iraqi people will be on their own.

3. Let me clarify the Republic Party-McCain position on Iraq.... It's quite simple, really....
McCain's been to Iraq, hundreds of times and knows exactly what their PM's position is. Doesn't matter what the PM says. McCain knows what it is. So discount the PM saying he wants us out by the end of 2010.

The Segio is working, therefore we can't leave Iraq otherwise we'd lose all the gains we've made due to The Sergio. Before we couldn't leave Iraq because we were not making progress and didn't want to leave as losers.

So essentially, we can't leave because we're winning and before we couldn't leave because we were losing.

Got it?
