Curt Schilling, blowhard extraordinaire, is now blogging
Of all of the sour memories of election 2004 - and there are many - one of the most irksome was Schilling trumpeting for people to vote for Bush after the BoSox won the World Series. Knowing that Kerry was a Red Sox fan, Schilling delighted in sticking in the knife and causing maximum humiliation.

Now he's blogging, and while so far he's stuck to baseball his wingnuttery probably won't be far behind. He says this in his initial post:

That’s not to say I’ll be preaching from the pulpit–far from it. Being a major league baseball player does not give me keen insight into politics, education, or anything else for that matter. It does give me insight and knowledge about baseball, about being part of a team, about excelling at something not many people can. Beyond that my thoughts and beliefs are my own and for the most part pretty normal.

Yeah, the destruction of America is 'pretty normal'.

What's fun is that, while most of the replies are of a simpering nature, the few who have criticized him in his first two postings earn a personal response from ol' Curt himself so obviously any criticism gets under his freeper skin. I've avoided posting anything there - it's not easy, because I really despise the man - but if you want to see him whine like a little baby here's his link:

1. Ugh...Shilling! (misspelled on purpose!)
He's pissed me off since his promoting that a-hole in the '04 election!
Right after that, I drove through the town he lives in in MA and
there were posters hung up all over on telephone poles declaring
"Schilling for President!" :puke:
I was appalled and pissed off!
I'm sure his wife had something to do with that!
They were obviously painted by children.

Thanks for the link but don't think I'll go there.
He's leaving the Red Sox soon anyway.
They aren't renewing his contract, last I heard.
He's to old!!! Good bye and good riddence!

3. MLB Players Political Alignment
Was once described to me as being "somewhere to the right of the average police officer."

We get artists, they get steroid-pumped athletes of a sport that's been waning in popularity for years.

4. I met Curt, years ago, when he played for Houston.
He was an asshole back then, too.

15. Curt was also an asshole when he was with the Phillies.
There were stories about him going to the front office complaining about one of the Phillies' managers who eventually got fired. The strange thing is, this manager eventually got hired as a coach by the same Diamondbacks that won the 2001 World Series. Yes, the same team Curt Schilling was a part of: co-winner of the World Series MVP with Randy Johnson.

13. The Bane Of The Internet
Everyone with a computer and few extra dollars can have their own website and blog. This rich pinhead is proof that those are the only requirements. True intellect and having something worth saying are not.

14. I did enjoy watching Schill own McGwire in 2001
when he pitched for the D-backs.

Frankly, I don't really care what his politics are.
